Oberliga make-up match in Hildesheim
VfV Hildesheim wants to secure the next home win against Wetschen
VfV Borussia 06 Hildesheim is called upon again on Wednesday evening: At 7:00 p.m., the postponed match against TSV Wetschen is scheduled. After the 3-0 victory on Sunday against Lupo-Martini Wolfsburg, VfV wants to carry the momentum forward – also to take the next step up the table.
The starting position favors VfV
The signs point to a favorite role for the hosts. Hildesheim comes into the match with a clear success from their most recent home appearance and has already won the first duel of this season: VfV won the first leg 3-2. In addition, Wetschen arrives as 14th in the table and thus enters the match from a significantly more difficult starting position.
For VfV, it is about more than just the next win: With three points, a jump to fourth place would be possible for now – an interim goal that adds extra sporting tension to the evening.
Tight schedule and personnel concerns
Despite the favorable starting position, the task remains demanding. The squad is visibly thinned out: Yannik Schulze is out due to injury, as is Ilir Qela. Maximilian Kohl goes into the week carrying a knock, Sean Redemann is ill. In addition, the involvement of Fred MC Mensah Quarshie and Mahdi Biso is still uncertain.
Added to this is the high workload. Coach Kitar describes a rhythm of games every 3.5 days, which has already been ongoing for three weeks. According to him, four more matches are scheduled until next Sunday. In such a phase, every absence is felt twice as much: rotation becomes a necessity, stability a challenge – especially when automatisms suffer due to changing lineups and energy must be managed precisely over 90 minutes.
Kitar states the clear goal
Kitar leaves no doubt about the objective: “Of course we want to win the home game to climb to fourth place for now, and then we’ll see where the journey goes. Right now, it’s not easy to play every 3.5 days – and that’s been the case for three weeks already. By next Sunday, there are four more games to come, but that’s been the norm for years. Nothing new.”
Thus, the guideline for the evening is clear: VfV wants to use its starting position without ignoring the real risks. What will be decisive is how well Hildesheim manages the workload and compensates for the personnel gaps – and whether the team succeeds in bringing the quality from the recent 3-0 home win onto the pitch again under these conditions.
