District Cup Final in Grünenplan: 2:2 in the Last Action – Winner Still Undecided

The men's final in the Allersheimer District Cup between TSV Deinsen and SC Drispenstedt developed into a game with multiple twists in Grünenplan – and an equalizer in the very last scene. After Drispenstedt's 1:0 lead at halftime, Deinsen turned the match around after the break, before Drispenstedt managed to make it 2:2 with a corner kick.

The final was accompanied by a live ticker from the Sportnews team led by Stephan Gaube. According to the club, Anton Gebhard was unable to play at short notice and was replaced on site by Felix König.

Deinsen Misses Chances Before the Break – Drispenstedt Scores Coldly

Kickoff was at 3:03 pm. In the early stages, both teams had opportunities, but as the game progressed, Deinsen had the clearer chances: A goal by Elbison Ahmetaj was disallowed due to an offensive foul, Agron Luma hit the post after a free kick. Shortly after, Deinsen missed further big chances – first Leandro Fischer failed in a one-on-one, then Milan Ander put the rebound over the already empty goal.

Drispenstedt, on the other hand, was efficient. At 3:42 pm, Faisel Rachidi broke through on the wing and found Artjom Schepp, who headed in to make it 1:0. The game went into halftime with this score.

Deinsen Turns the Final After the Break

After the restart, Drispenstedt initially remained present, but as the second half progressed, the game shifted in favor of TSV. Deinsen increased the pressure, won more second balls, and got into promising areas more often.

At 4:40 pm, the equalizer came: After a free kick from Agron Luma, Ousmane Soumah rose highest and headed in to make it 1:1.

Just a few minutes later, the next setback for Drispenstedt followed. At 4:45 pm, a handball in the penalty area was deemed worthy of a penalty; Soumah confidently converted at 4:46 pm to make it 2:1.

With that, Deinsen had completely turned the final around within a very short time – and seemed to be on the way to winning the cup.

Corner in the Final Action: Rachidi Saves Drispenstedt the 2:2

As Deinsen seemed to be bringing the lead over the line, Drispenstedt was awarded one last set piece. In the final action, a corner led to the equalizer: After a shot, rebound, and header, Faisel Rachidi pushed the ball over the line at 4:55 pm to make it 2:2.

Immediately afterwards, Drispenstedt was listed as district cup winner in the live ticker at 5:15 pm. However, at the time of publication of this text, there was no independent, officially confirmed winner announcement.

What is certain: The final lived from its twists – Deinsen turned the game after the break, Drispenstedt countered with the last action.

Remarkable on the Side: In an Instagram Poll, Drispenstedt Was Considered the Favorite

In an Instagram poll before kickoff, 818 votes went to SC Drispenstedt and 216 to TSV Deinsen. On the pitch, however, it was not expectation that decided in the end, but a moment in the final second.
