A pilgrimage path through autumn landscape, prayer, and transience
When nature wears its colorful dress and simultaneously announces change, a special space for reflection opens up. The pilgrimage from Achtum to the Marienrode Monastery invites you to think about your own transience, the value of present life, and the confidence of faith.
Spiritual paths through the autumn landscape
The journey begins at St. Martin Church in Achtum and leads through the open landscape over Galgenberg to Hildesheim Cathedral. After that, it continues to St. Mauritius Church and through forest and fields to the Marienrode Monastery. The approximately 15-kilometer route combines nature experience, religious journey tradition, and personal contemplation.
Stories, songs, and prayers
Impulses from stories, songs, prayers, and poems accompany the group. Moments of silence alternate with exchanges among participants. Thus, a mindful spiritual community emerges, where questions of finiteness, life conduct, and hope find their place.
Pilgrimage together and pause
The tour is led by pilgrimage guides Barbara Fahlbusch-Eisheuer and Helga Gothke. The group size is limited to at least eight and at most 15 people. Several elevations make the hike challenging while providing intense impressions of the landscape, church spaces, and monastic atmosphere.
Practical information for participation
