Spoken into the Bag: Language as an Alternative to Hate and Exclusion

On Friday, December 11, 2026, the event Spoken into the Bag invites you to the Town Hall Hall of the Historic Town Hall in Hildesheim. The title refers to a project that sees language not just as mere communication, but as a social responsibility.

When Words Show Attitude

The focus of the project Spoken into the Bag! Against Hate for Hildesheim is on the topics of racism and anti-Semitism. The event therefore fits into a cultural discourse that questions the effects of language: How do prejudices arise? Which narratives promote exclusion? And how can a democratic conversation culture be strengthened?

Literary Language Art with Societal Significance

Language possesses a double power. It can hurt, exclude, and solidify prejudices, but it can also clarify, unite, and express opposition. The project combines educational work with the examination of social cohesion, thus opening access to central questions of contemporary culture.

An Evening at the Historic Town Hall

The Town Hall Hall of the Historic Town Hall provides a traditional setting for this encounter with language, memory, and democratic education. Visitors can expect a literary and socio-political experience that encourages listening, reflecting, and shared conversation.

Conclusion: Experience Language Consciously

Spoken into the Bag makes it clear that every word has an impact. Those interested in literature, language art, political education, and the societal handling of racism and anti-Semitism will experience an evening of cultural relevance in Hildesheim. The event invites participants to hear language live, reflect critically, and reconsider responsibility in togetherness.
