Programming with Colors: The Ozobot Workshop in Hildesheim

A small robot, many colorful lines, and a lot of discovery joy: At the Ozobot Workshop in the Hildesheim City Library, children playfully dive into the world of programming. Together with Ulli and Hamed, they test what the learning robot can do and experience a child-friendly family event filled with learning fun, curiosity, and children's laughter.

Colors Become Commands

The Ozobot reacts to color codes and follows drawn lines. Children develop their own paths, try out different color combinations, and observe how the mini robot changes its direction or speed. Thus, abstract programming becomes visible, tangible, and directly experienced.

Playful Introduction to Robotics and STEM

The workshop combines creative design with logical thinking. While planning the routes, children practice concentration, problem-solving skills, and the joy of trying things out. The learning experience remains age-appropriate and child-friendly: Each new robot journey becomes a little experiment with surprising results.

Discovering Analog and Digital

In addition to color codes, the Ozobot can also be programmed with a digital device. This allows participants to learn about two approaches and compare how analog drawings and digital commands function. This strengthens media competence and provides an understandable access to computer science and technology.

Collaborative Experimenting in the City Library

The City Library offers a suitable learning place for curious children and families. Through joint drawing, testing, and improving, small successes are achieved. The open, experimental atmosphere fosters a sense of community, self-confidence, and joy in independent discovery.

Conclusion: Robot Adventures for Curious Children

The Ozobot Workshop promises an exciting mix of creativity, technology, and shared time. Families experience how programmable paths arise from simple color lines. Those who want to try out robotics themselves and see the little learning robot in action will find a special family experience on October 12, 2026, at the Hildesheim City Library.
