Play together, marvel, and discover new favorite games
When the dice roll at the gaming table and children's laughter echoes through the learning garden, a special family experience begins at the Hildesheim City Library. At the Game Meet on November 11, 2026, adults and children aged eight and above come together to try out new games and enjoy time together.
Playing fun for curious families
Numerous games from the library's collection are available for trying out. The game experts from the city library explain the rules, accompany the introduction, and support with questions. This way, families can more easily find a game that suits their interests and the age of the children.
Adequate learning and growing together
Playing combines joy with a valuable learning experience. Children inadvertently train concentration, communication, strategic thinking, and fair play with rules. Adults experience how much fun and development can be found in a shared game.
New games and new encounters
The focus is on playing together and the opportunity to meet other game fans. Whether tactical board games, quick family games, or tricky challenges: The Game Meet invites discovery, trying out, and storytelling. Many of the games presented belong to the library's offerings and can be borrowed afterward.
Family-friendly event location
The Game Meet takes place in the learning garden of the city library. The regular entrance is located at Judenstraße 1. Barrier-free access is available via Scheelenstraße 26. Registration is required for the event, as seating is limited.
