OpenStudiosAlfeld 2026: Experience art up close in Alfeld

On Sunday, November 8, 2026, the OpenStudiosAlfeld will open their doors and invite you to a special art experience in Alfeld and the surrounding districts. From 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, visitors will encounter painting, graphics, sculpture, serigraphy, ceramics, and jewelry design directly at the places of their creation. Admission is free.

Artwork viewing between studio and gallery

The OpenStudiosAlfeld have been connecting artistic work with personal exchange for fifteen years. Behind the exhibited paintings, objects, and pieces of jewelry are individual thoughts, memories, and stories. The exhibition situation intentionally remains approachable: art enthusiasts not only experience finished works but also the atmosphere of galleries, workshops, and studios.

Painting between nature, color, and inner movement

In the Kurzweil Gallery, Helma Weigelt presents jewelry design while Anke Sowada showcases painting and graphic design. Sowada's color-intensive works move between precise observation of nature and expressive dissolution. Light-filled tree canopies, waves, and bright color fields meet a multilayered painting style where acrylic, tempera, and pastel create a special spatial depth.

Other art locations show free painting, informal visual language, and graphic techniques. Philip Lübbecke-Grünhagen works in the footsteps of informal art and aims to inspire the imagination of viewers. With Karin Scholz, abstraction and reality merge in contrasting color fields, structures, and forms that relate nature, forest, water, and humanity to each other.

Sculpture, serigraphy, and ceramics as a sensory experience

The artistic variety ranges from sculptures and paintings to serigraphs and ceramic objects. Babs Krüger's works are understood as a resonance space for feelings and personal stories. Rüdiger Pöhlchen combines fine line work, printing techniques, and experimental colorfulness into a search for traces beneath the surface. In Lübbrechtsen, abstract painting and stone sculpture meet Kathrin Schwake-Völkel's imperfect ceramics.

Art wandering through Alfeld and the surrounding districts

Nine art locations participate in the studio weekend. In addition to the Kurzweil Gallery, the paths lead to the Art Pavilion, the Popup.Gallery.39, the Gallery K6, as well as to Langenholzen, Lübbrechtsen, and Brunkensen. A collaboration with the Summer of Pioneers enriches the program with photographic perspectives on the question of what is considered valuable in everyday life.

Conclusion: Encounters that bring art to life

The OpenStudiosAlfeld 2026 offer an immediate art experience with a personal exhibition atmosphere, diverse materials, and inspiring conversations. Those who want to not just view painting, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, and regional contemporary art but experience them in direct dialogue should make their way to Alfeld on November 8. The aesthetic experience is created here in the middle of the creative process.
