Vivaldi's Seasons meet Beethoven's Nature Sound

On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the tfn_philharmonie invites you to a colorful journey through spring, summer, autumn, and winter at the Great House of the Theater for Lower Saxony. The classical concert begins at 4:00 PM.

Birdsong, Thunderstorms, and Ice Skaters

Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons transforms images of nature into music that can be experienced immediately. The tones of the chamber orchestra and the virtuosity of the solo violin depict birdsong in spring, the shimmering heat and dramatic thunderstorms of summer, a festive harvest scene in autumn, and the frosty elegance of ice skaters in winter.

Virtuoso Solo Violin and Baroque Orchestration

Vivaldi's four violin concertos op. 8 combine precise synchronization, dance-like rhythms, and expressive solo passages. The interplay of violin, strings, and basso continuo creates a unique musical movement and characteristic sound for each season.

Beethoven's Pastoral as the Second Concert Focus

Following this, Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 F Major op. 68, the Pastoral, broadens the view of nature. Its orchestral dramaturgy leads from rural tranquility through lively scenes to the powerful colors of a thunderstorm. Under the direction of Ki Yong Song, the tfn_philharmonie shapes an evening concert that bridges baroque virtuosity and romantic nature poetry.

Live Concert at the Great House

The Great House of the Theater for Lower Saxony offers more than 540 seats and a rising seating arrangement with a good view of the stage.
